Join artist Sandi Hester on an unforgettable landscape retreat, set in the romantic countryside of Sicily. Taking place in the Madonie Natural Park, this week-long adventure will teach you an out-of-the-box approach to landscape, plenty of new techniques to try in mixed media, insightful one-on-one tutoring with your favorite artist, and most importantly, a safe place to experiment and grow. You’ll explore the picturesque vistas of Sicily, with daily plein-air painting sessions, an art trip to the breathtaking fishing town of Cefalù, and an outing to Gangi, “The Most Beautiful Village in Italy” prize winner.

Sandi Hester, your instructor, will introduce you to a new way of exploring your surroundings. She’ll teach you how to quickly take notes of the landscape using your painterly sketches, and then develop them further in the studio. You’ll learn to interpret what you see in a gestural, loose style, without getting overwhelmed by details. Sandi’s approach, exercises, one-on-one tutoring, and demonstrations will help you find your flow more easily, silence your inner critic, embrace your mistakes, and more intimately understand your surroundings.
