Our 25 hectares private park will let you enjoy your stay without wishing to leave, even for a single moment, the Masseria. It could be a real silent retreat during which, in absolute privacy, you will bathe in our small river, go trekking along the miles of paths inside the park, learn Sicilian cuisine with our Chef, join us to participate to one of the many activities of the farm, from the harvest to the mushrooms picking. Or simply abandon yourself to the "dolce far niente" at the edge of our pool. Yet the Masseria stands in the heart of the Madonie, one of the wildest areas in Sicily, rich in forests, valleys, mountain gorges, medieval villages. Together with us and our excursions agencies partners, you can discover secluded and uncontaminated places, cross the Tiberio Gorges by rubber dinghy, raft in the Pollina river, reach the mountain tops through secrets trekking or mountain bike trails. And then there is still Sicily, with its millennial ancient art, its shimmering beaches, its archaeological wonders, the legendary kindness of its inhabitants. Everything easily reachable from the Masseria, by private car or with individual or group excursions, that we will be delighted to help you organize, through local agencies of our absolute trust.

Around The Masseria

OUR LITTLE RIVER

Ten minutes walk among oaks and olive trees, and you will be at the small river on the edge of our park. If the water is high enough, depending on the season, you can swim or you can simply sunbathe in total privacy. And it will always be possible to organize a picnic along its banks.

HIKING TRAILS

Inside and all around the Masseria’s land, there are miles of trekking trails between woods, fields of wheat and olive trees, over small hills, along which you can walk in solitude and silence, go jogging early in the morning or just breath fresh and clean air.

DOING NOTHING AROUND THE POOL

Yes, now just lay down, take the sun, read, swim or do exactly nothing around our pool, under the shade of white umbrellas, lying on comfortable loungers. From April to November, the pool with its fresh water will be the ideal place to discover the essence of the authentic Sicilian "dolce far niente".

LOOKING FOR WILD ASPARAGUS

It will not be easy to find them in the tall grass, but in April and May our fields are full of wild asparagus and spring mushrooms, which we will help you to recognize. And in every month there will be something good to pick in the fields, from origanum to wild fennel, to saffron flowers.

LET'S MAKE TOGETHER OUR PRESERVES

In Summer, you can join us to pick tomatoes from our biogical garden and the seasonal fruit from the trees. Then, learn with us how to make tomato preserves, homemade jams and ice-creams. And, of course, you can always take part in our Chef's Sicilian cuisine cooking lessons.

HARVEST TIME

The picking of tomatoes in Summer, the grape harvest in October, the olives harvest in November and their transformation into extra-virgin olive oil, through all its phases. It will be a joy for us, to involve you in all the many activities of a real Sicilian organic farm.

RAFTING IN THE POLLINA RIVER

The rafting of the Pollina river will be an authentic adventure, surrounded by the pristine nature of a Mediterranean habitat. Suitable from beginners to advanced, we will also cross the “Gole of Tiberio” by rubber dinghy. Period: April-October (depending on the river conditions).

CASTLE OF SPERLINGA

The Castle of Sperlinga is one of the hidden gems of Sicily. Only few miles far from the Masseria, the castle was built by the Normans in the 11th century and is carved into a single rock monolith, above caves of sacred temples that date back to 4,000 years ago.

GANGI VILLAGE

Winner of the award of most beautiful village in Italy in 2014, Gangi is a medieval small town, built on an ancient Greek settlement and placed at over one thousand meters altitude. Just 8 kilometers away from the Masseria, from its “belvedere” it’s possible to admire a breathtaking view of Etna.
